Club Rules and Regulations

The aim of the Nautilus Dive Club is to facilitate safe, enjoyable diving experiences for members. To achieve this purpose, members are governed by the following regulations:

1. Members must be certified divers to participate in scuba diving on club trips. C Cards are to be presented to the Dive Operator on the day of each Club event.
2. Each member is responsible for ensuring he/she has the experience and qualifications required for specific dives. If the Dive Operator, or dive organiser, sets specific criteria, this will be advertised with the dive information. The committee can prevent participation in a particular dive if a member does not have the necessary experience or qualification.
3. All Club members are to respect and follow the rules imposed by dive operators when on their vessels. This includes criteria re experience/ qualifications, dive instructions and use of the vessel.
4. The Committee has the power to refuse new memberships, or to renew current members, if the behaviour of any person is inappropriate, unsafe, detrimental to the Club image, or is not respectful of rules imposed by dive operators.
5. Membership is required to enjoy the benefits of the Club - discounts are only available to current fully paid members.

6. Club Dives, procedure if you want to cancel your trip.

   Contact the Trip Coordinator to ascertain if the operator has been paid. If this is the case you will need to make your own arrangements with the operator. Up until that time, the Club can accept a cancellation, but this has to be done with the Trip Coordinator, who will advise the Treasurer. The Treasurer does not keep a copy of the Trip Sheet.

   It would be acceptable to contact the Treasurer, if no contact can be made with the Trip Co-ordinator, but nonetheless, personal contact must be made in both instances. Contacting other Committee or club members can not be accepted, as the information may not be forwarded.
