Special Club Dive – Lady Bowen Wreck, May 2021

Only 4 seats remaining – BOOK NOW

You have been asking for it so the committee has delivered!
Thanks to our friends at Mission Beach Dive, A rather unique offer has been provided to the club.  Now you NEED TO READ this carefully and fully as the DETAILS are important !

An opportunity to dive the Lady Bowen wreck, just off the coast of Mission Beach.  This 70m, 670 ton, 4 mask iron schooner lays in deeper waters (27 to 35m) where moderate currents and bottom surges have been known to circulate, a bit like the Yongala for anyone who has dived that wreck. This means you need to be an Advanced Open Water (AOW) certified minimum and experienced in stronger current conditions.  It also means it is the playground for many pelagic species!  This is NOT a ‘newbie’ dive but a great opportunity to gain further experience if you are interested in wreck dives.

Due to the limitations of rental gear, you are encouraged to bring all your own gear INCLUDING TANKS.  If you wish to dive on Nitrox then you need to arrange that too. The number of pax onboard is limited due to (Covid19 blah blah) but is also dependent on enough people bringing your own gear.

More information on the Lady Bowen can be found here:

Further details of this special club dive below.

Remember to read through to the end of ALL details of this offer.

The option exists to extend this to a weekend stay if you choose.  Mission Beach Dive have other offerings and willing to extend spacial Club Member discounts to these.  You are best to discuss these with them when you call to book. This means you can turn the dive into a mini get-away for the weekend, adding extra value to your travel there.

Light lunch provided onboard with drinks at bar prices (usual fare).
Mission Beach dive allows unguided dives for Nautilus Club members after a mandatory FULL Briefing to divers before entering the water.

Day one (Dive Lady Bowen Wreck): Saturday 15th May
Day two (Optional dives of nearby GBR or other non-diving activities on Dunk Island):  Sunday 16th May

You may chose one or both days, just make it clear at the time of booking.  Note that the wreck dive is only on Saturday!  If you choose to stay 2 days, you will need to make your own accommodation arrangements.  Mission Beach dive may have advice on this or the local Tourist Information office.
