Beqa Lagoon, Fiji Shark Diving Oct – Nov 2023

Written by Webmaster

We are pleased to announce our third offering for the 2023-24 overseas trip line-up!  This 7-night shark diving trip was offered as an optional add-on for the 2x Taveuni trip participants, but it’s also open to the wider club members as a stand-alone trip.

Beqa Lagoon is bordered by a shallow reef and islands and is known for its various shark dives, but also boasts a great reef with an abundance of soft corals and some wrecks.  You can expect to have a great variety of diving within a reasonably sheltered site.   Waidroka dive centre has also discovered some never-before-dived reefs on the outer edge of the lagoon, which you will also get to dive.

The highlight, however, is of course the thrilling shark dives! The dives with Aqua-Trek features up to eight different species of sharks all cruising around everywhere you look with a frenzy of bull sharks, tawny nurse sharks, lemon sharks, grey reef sharks, silver tip sharks, whitetip sharks, blacktip sharks, and if you are very very lucky, even the ever-elusive tiger shark!

Dive Component:
13 dives, 5 days of boat diving with Waidroka Resort dive centre & Aqua-Trek:
Diving will alternate between reef dives conducted by Waidroka Resort dive centre and shark dives conducted by Aqua-Trek.  You will have a minimum of 4 shark dives (2 shark dives x 2 days) with an option of an additional shark dive day for a fee (please enquire for options).

Accommodation (20 pax):
7-night stay at the Waidroka Bay Resort, an authentic Fijian resort set in beautiful tropical scenery overlooking the ocean.   Package price includes  full meals, 13 dives and airport transfers, welcome drink and Waidroka Sulu on arrival, use of SUPs and kayaks, Fijian Kava Ceremony, Evening Lovo Feast, Yanuca Island visit on Beqa Lagoon dive day.  With the exception of the 2 x Deluxe family sized bures, we have reserved ALL of the accommodation available, so we will likely have the resort to ourselves for the whole duration of our stay.

5 x Garden Bures (twin/double) – stand-alone bungalows in the garden area between the Main Bure and the ocean
