Here is the second overseas trip of the 2023-24 financial year! 

Taveuni, Fiji is often reffered to as the “soft coral capital of the world” – with the legendary Rainbow Reef!

Rainbow Reef is a reef in the Somosomo Strait, between the Fijian islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu, a relatively narrow channel where nutrient rich waters from deeper areas at either end of the channel are brought to the surface and over the reefs, providing a constant food supply for the ecosystem of marine life that lives there.  It is one of the most famous and beautiful dive sites in the South Pacific with its sheer abundance of pristine soft and hard corals, sea fans and sea anemones of vibrant rainbow colours.  Fiji also has about 1,200 species of fish, and every one of the 27 species of butterfly fish found in Fiji is found on the Rainbow Reef.  Every scene, every vista in every direction has literally every colour of the rainbow!   You will also have the opportunity to dive the Great White Wall, with its massive wall covered densely in white soft corals that almost look like they glow!

For those of you who wish to extend your stay in Fiji, there is an optional add on trip to the Pacific Harbour/Beqa Lagoon in Viti Levu, to do some adrenalin-pumping shark diving with the bull sharks, lemon sharks, tawny nurse sharks, etc. If you are intrested, please indicate when you sign up.  

Dive Component: 
15 dives (3 boat dives x 5 days) with Taveuni Dive Resort Dive Shop

• Dive Centre is within the resort & provides a secure dive gear wash and storage room
• Resort has 4 covered boats
• Usually the boat trips are reasonably short (within 20 mins)
• There is always a mild to moderate current and the dives will be mostly drift dives

Accommodation (max 16 pax):  
7-night stay at the Taveuni Dive Resort, a sustainable dive resort designed by divers for divers.

With just 8 double/twin bures, this resort is a very cosy and friendly place.    We have reserved the whole resort for our club’s exclusive use.
