We are pleased to officially launch the 2026 Competition!
Now is the time to start sorting through your photos from the last 2 years and pick those winners. There is still time before entries close to capture that winning shot!
Key Dates:
- 1st May – Entries open
- 14th May (midnight) – Entries close
- 11th – 12th July – Exhibition at the Junior Eisteddfod Hall
- 11th July (Saturday) – Awards Night
This year the Exhibition and Awards Night will be all be on one big weekend! With the Tanks Arts Centre no longer available for our exhibition, the Junior Eisteddfod Hall has been secured as a venue that can host our exhibition and, importantly, also our Awards Night! The Awards Night is always a great night and the biggest event on the Club’s calendar. All Club members and supporters are welcome to attend, so put this important date into your diary.
We are trying a different approach to the competition this year, with the following changes:
- A new points-based system – rather than awarding prizes for each category, points will be given for category winners, runners-up and highly commended, and summed to determine an overall competition ranking.
- Prizes will be awarded according to competition ranking (and entrant preferences).
- No separate “Portfolio” categories – as the whole competition is essentially a portfolio-style event, entrants are encouraged to enter all relevant categories in order to score points.
Full details and rules are in the Conditions of Entry document. It is recommended that you also review the Photo and Video preparation guidelines as these will help with sizing, printing readiness and video preparation.
How To Enter
We are developing a new easy online system for registration and uploading of entries, accessed via our Membership System. It’s almost ready and a link to this will be provided before entries open on 1st May.
Competition entry fee is still only $50, which will be payable on registration, with Juniors invited to enter for free.

All photo entries will be printed and provided to the entrants following the Exhibition. We will be displaying as many photos as possible, within the practical limitations of the Hall. The Exhibition will be open to the public, so please visit, bring your friends and spread the word. Judging will be done by independent judges, with the winners announced at the Awards Night.
